Fascinated by computer mediated communication, I studied the use of computers in teaching languages at university, and then went on to general multimedia development, and in 1996, web development.
Although Linguistics and Programming may seem like diverse fields, I believe there is a strong relationship. Linguistics is the study of natural languages and Programming is the study of artificial languages. I believe my degree in Linguistics laid the groundwork for a successful career in Web Application Development, where I do lots of programming in many, diverse artificial languages and lead others in learning to produce high quality, clean code.
